HUMIDITY CALIBRATION SERVICES

Thunder Scientific Model 2500 in our humidity lab

NIST traceable calibration and certification of:

Chart recordersHydro-thermographs  -  Data-loggers  -  Humidity sensors

Calibrations are performed utilizing ICL’s new Thunder Scientific Model 2500 humidity generator. The NIST-developed and proven two-pressure humidity generation system utilized by the Thunder Scientific 2500 is of itself an intrinsic standard for generating humidity values (see NCSL International’s document RISP-5 for details).  The two-pressure principle saturates an air stream with water vapor at a given pressure and temperature.  The saturated air stream is then reduced to test pressure.  The humidity at test pressure is, then, the ratio of the two absolute pressures, corrected for vapor pressure and enhancement factor ratios.

Using this device, we are able to generate very precise humidity values from 10% to 95%RH at temperatures from 0 to 70°C, with system uncertainties of (conservatively) 0.70%RH (k=2) Our A2LA Certificate & Scope of Accreditation

The client’s instrument is subjected to a three (humidity) point test at a specified temperature, typically 20, 50 & 80%RH with a minimum ‘soak’, or equilibration time of two hours at each value, with the sensor(s) exposed to a moving air stream of controlled humidity and temperature at a velocity of 20 liters per minute. These 'As Found' indications of the instrument are evaluated for compliance with required tolerances. If needed, and appropriate for the instrument, adjustments are performed to optimize the instrument’s indications and the test is repeated to determine 'As Left' indications.

Testing may be varied in accordance with the client’s requirements and fewer or more test points may be selected.

A multi-page calibration report is issued which includes all ISO 9000 and ISO 17025 required information, including procedure followed, AS FOUND readings, adjustments made, if any, AS LEFT readings, and all NIST traceability information. Graphs and charts (if applicable for the device tested) and printout(s) of test parameters during the test(s) are included as supporting documentation.

Pricing:

Pre-calibration inspection of device, calibration of device at 3 humidity values at a specified temperature
(i.e., 20, 50, 80% @ 23C) to obtain ‘As Found’ readings, and issuance of calibration report document: $250.00

Adjustment of the device, if needed, and a second calibration run to obtain ‘As Left’ values: add 50% to
test charge

Variations to tests:

Additional humidity/temperature test point: $90.00

A test consisting of single humidity/temperature test point: $150.00
